Fire Chief
Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue is currently recruiting qualified applicants for the position of Fire Chief. This position reports directly to the Board of Commissioners consisting of 5 elected officials.
Located in Silverdale, Washington, directly west of Seattle across the Puget Sound, this progressive combination fire district serves a population base of over 72,000 residing within its 115 square miles of jurisdiction. A budget of just under $ 17 million allows the 76 career, 99 volunteers and 23 administrative members to offer a full range of fire suppression, prevention, rescue, hazardous materials, wildland–interface suppression and full emergency medical services for advanced life support and basic life support response and transport from 12 stations; 4 Career stations and 8 Volunteer stations. A co-owned administrative campus shared with Silverdale Water District is comprised of two shared facilities and serves as the districts administrative facility and vehicle maintenance facility with 23 administrative personnel working at the site. General facilities repair and maintenance as well as central supply functions for the district is preformed by district personnel. On average, there are over 7000 annual calls for service, with approximately 75% being advanced life support and basic life support responses.
