The North Washington Fire Protection District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Firefighter/Paramedic. We are testing to fill two open positions as soon as possible.
North Washington Fire is a combination department that provides fire suppression and, ALS ambulance transport as well as other services including rescue and hazmat response. Our response area is located in unincorporated Adams County adjacent to the north boundary of Denver. This area is 40% residential (population 60,000) and 60% industrial (population 45,000). In the heart of our district lies the intersection of I-25, I-270, I-76, US 36, and Co. Hwy 224.
Qualifications: Must be at least 21 years of age; must possess a high school diploma or GED; must be a U.S. citizen able to speak, read, and write the English language; must possess a valid State of Colorado drivers License (at time of hire); must possess a valid State of Colorado Paramedic Certification (or National Registry with ability to obtain a Colorado Certification prior to appointment); must possess a CPR Certification; must possess an Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification; must possess a Pediatric Advanced Life Support certificate (or obtain within the first year of employment); possess a valid State of Colorado Hazmat Operations Certification (or Certification from an accredited program with the ability to test and obtain a Colorado Certification prior to appointment); possess a State of Colorado Firefighter I Certification (or Certification from an accredited program with the ability to test and obtain a Colorado Certification prior to appointment); and meet daily physical fitness requirements as established by the District.
Depending on the number of applications received, the District reserves the right to conduct an initial screening based on years of experience as a paramedic.
The North Washington Fire Protection District Civil Service Committee shall determine the examination, testing and other criteria for the application process.
