The University of Alaska Fairbanks is seeking a solution-oriented fire code professional to serve a vibrant campus community as an Assistant Chief of Fire and Life Safety with the University Fire Department. The University Fire Department is a progressive fire and EMS department staffed with full-time emergency services students supervised by a staff of career fire officers. The successful applicant will work with the State Fire Marshal within the code enforcement authority deferred to the University by performing building plans reviews, life safety inspections, and fire code consultation in addition to campus fire safety education and planning. The successful applicant will work closely with University engineers, facilities and risk management personnel, and the building official to ensure a safe and productive campus environment.
