As the Publisher of the Daily Dispatch, I enjoy a national perch from which to observe our industry.   I'm frequently impressed by the quality and professionalism of our colleagues.  I think you would be amazed at the amount of time, energy and expertise that is freely given to the IAFC by its members to simply better our craft.    After all, that's what the IAFC is all about...its members and our issues.
 

One such member, Mike Metro, Chief Deputy (Ret.) from Los Angeles County has been a willing servant to our profession in many ways, but most visibly thorough his work with the EMS Section of the IAFC.  Chief Metro has been involved in EMS issues within his home department and for the IAFC for well over a decade at the national level.  

While I could fill many pages with his accomplishments, it would pale to the core fact that Chief Metro is a proven advocate for fire based EMS and has served our profession well.  

On behalf of the many of us who will never have the chance to say thank you…, thanks Chief Metro for your continued service to the IAFC and to our profession.
