A Fayette County firefighter suffered temporary hearing loss on Thursday when an explosive device went off while he was extinguishing a Dumpster fire, according to officials. Todd Fullem, 40, a Uniontown fireman, was putting out the fire in Pershing Court at 12:09 a.m. on Thursday when police said “a large explosion” occurred inside the Dumpster. Fullem was thrown to the ground, police said. According to police, a crowd of people cheered after Fullem was hurt. Police said they dispersed the crowd, and Fullem drove himself to Uniontown Hospital.
