Officials confirmed that a suspect is now in custody. This is now a homicide and fire investigation. Family members tell us a 68-year-old man was shot and killed early this morning on Selden Road. Sheriff Patrick O'Flynn says it appears the suspect wanted police to shoot him. Officials say the suspect set his own house on fire and then went to a neighbor's house and shot a man, who was in bed. Police were initially called to a home on Selden Road for a fire around 4 Tuesday morning. Genesee County Emergency Management told everyone on Selden Road to stay inside their homes around 5:30 Tuesday morning. The shelter in place has since been canceled and Leroy school is open. Fire officials in Leroy tell us someone shot at the first firefighters on the scene. No firefighters were hurt. The Monroe County Sheriff's Swat team responded as well.
