Hours after shaking hands with President Obama, an Arkansas firefighter stopped along a Maryland highway to help save a life. Brody Channell spotted the Montgomery County police officer stopped along I-270 treating child. Channell identified himself to the officer as an out-of-state firefighter, but no one caught his name in the midst of the roadside incident, police said in a statement. Even though they didn't have a name, they saw a badge or indication he had been at the National Fallen Firefighters' Memorial Service. Less than 24 hours later, they had their man -- a firefighter in Little Rock, Ark. His father, Dennis Channell, was one of the 87 firefighters honored at the ceremony led by Obama. "I think it was meant to be. It was a right place, right time situation where I could assist the officer in what he was doing and save a life," he told a reporter Monday night. MCPD thanked Herman and Channell.
