A Eureka Springs firefighter is recovering after he was seriously injured fighting a structure fire on Grand Street. Fire officials say a team of two firefighters entered a burning mobile home when one of the firefighter's air pack mask was dislodged. Officials believe that Rod Wasson's mask was knocked loose while entering a doorway. Fellow firefighter Josh Beyler removed Wasson from the home. Paramedics found that Wasson may have inhaled superheated gases while inside the mobile home. They also say that he may have breathed in some of the heavy smoke. Wasson was placed on a ventilator and flown to Mercy Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri, for suspected respiratory burning.
