Investigators with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives have their completed work at the scene of a fatal warehouse fire that broke out during a dance party, killing 36 people. In a news conference Tuesday representatives from ATF stated there has been no final determination in the cause of the Oakland warehouse fire. All of the findings will be submitted to the Oakland Fire Department. When the report is completed it will be turned over to the district attorney’s office. Authorities said they would work diligently to bring this case to justice. Oakland Fire Chief Teresa Deloach Reed spoke in reaction to questions about the inspection process. She said the fire department had not received any complaints about the building. She also says there was no record of the warehouse being inspected.
