former Lodi fire captain is facing felony charges after allegedly embezzling over $200,000 from the Lodi Professional Firefighters Union he was once the treasurer of, according to court records. San Joaquin County Court records show Oscar Picazo is facing charges of grand theft, theft of more than $100,000 and take, damage of destroying property over $200,000. The firefighter union told ABC10 that it has been "coping with the damage" for months. "The [Lodi Professional Firefighters] was very disappointed to discover that Mr. Picazo violated the trust placed in him by the union," the union said in a statement. "Although Mr. Picazo did not take any public funds, the fact that Mr. Picazo would defraud his friends and colleagues makes this situation all the more disheartening.
