VIDEO: Minneapolis fire crews rescued a man in his 30s after his car went careening down a 200-yard embankment along the Mississippi River. Responders say the crash happened around 5:15 a.m. Tuesday. It wasn't until about 8:15 a.m. when two Minneapolis Public Works employees spotted the car near the water. “You could have never seen him from the road,” said Fire Captain Colm Black. The embankment is along West River Parkway at 26th Street South. The car was only visible from the opposite side of the river. “This person could have gone unnoticed for quite some time,” Black added. Responders eventually rescued the driver by airboat after they deemed it too dangerous to bring him up the embankment. Black says the man was found outside of his car trying to crawl up the embankment. He suffered minor injuries in the crash.
