Attention, Pokemon gamers:
If the new Pokemon GO app tells you to go to a local fire station, government compound or even the middle of the road for a "Poke Stop," don't go there.
Several Central New York fire and police departments are warning gamers not to try to "catch monsters" on their property, for the safety of both emergency crews and the public. "PSA: To all the Pokemon Trainers young and old: Pokemon are found in high grass; not in the middle of the road," the Village of Phoenix Police posted on its Facebook page Monday night. "This new app game: 'Pokemon GO' is a great way for people to get outside, and get some exercise, but use caution..."
The Cicero, Fairmount, Moyers Corners and Tully volunteer fire departments took to Facebook to express concerns about gamers who park in and wander around their parking lots and near their fire apparatus.
