A Sussex firefighter is arrested, accused of driving drunk behind the wheel of a fire truck and hitting a parked car. He was taken off the force, immediately. The fire chief told WISN 12 News reporter Christina Palladino as soon as he learned of the incident Monday, he placed the firefighter on administrative leave. The chief said the crash happened during a Memorial Day event Monday. The firefighter was driving a fire truck when he hit a parked car. The Waukesha County Sheriff's Office responded, but they called in the State Patrol because of a potential conflict of interest since the village of Sussex contracts out their police services to the Sheriff's Office. The responding trooper could smell alcohol on the firefighter's breath. The firefighter blew a 0.08 and failed several field sobriety tests.
