A woman walking around Beaver Creek Reservoir Tuesday evening died after being struck by a Green Springs Volunteer Fire Department truck. The Seneca County Sheriff’s office, who is handling the investigation into the death, has not released her identity pending positive identification by the woman's husband. Seneca County Sheriff William E. Eckelberry said it was about 9 p.m. Tuesday when the woman, who lives close to Beaver Creek Reservoir, was struck. She was wearing earbuds as she walked the top of the reservoir on Township Road 196. The City of Clyde owns the reservoir. Green Springs Fire had been called to the reservoir to help two fisherman who had capsized their boat and were in the water. “One of the firemen got into a small fire truck and backed it up to, possibly get the truck and its equipment closer to the water,” Eckelberry said. The firefighter did not see the woman and struck her. The woman died at the scene.
