Officials in West Texas are investigating whether procedures were followed after a 3-year-old girl was found in the back of a smashed vehicle hours after she was injured in a car accident. A tow truck driver found the girl Monday while taking the vehicle to a wrecking yard after the accident in Odessa, KOSA-TV (CBS 7) reported. The girl was taken to a hospital in Lubbock. Officials from the three agencies that responded to the traffic accident — the Texas Department of Public Safety, Ector County Sheriff's Department and Odessa Fire Rescue — did not see the girl on the floor in the back seat of the Jeep Grand Cherokee, said Odessa city spokeswoman Andrea Goodson.
