An East Village restaurant owner almost got sliced and diced by a disgruntled ex-employee who attacked him with knives — but a pair of quick-thinking FDNY medical techs saved the day.
EMTs Bruce Fonseca, 30, and Ryan Gref, 35, ran into the frightening scene Wednesday around 8:45 p.m. as they responded to a 911 call on 14th St. at Avenue B.
The two heard screams for help as they got out of their ambulance — and ran over to find a terrified man fighting for his life on the street while another went after him with two long knives.
“(He) was trying to stab the other person,” said Gref. “I yelled to catch the guy off guard and removed the knives.”
