While firefighters were busy rescuing a man from a burning building in Jersey City Thursday, a shameless burglar saw an opportunity.
Firefighters returned to their firehouse at 468 Ocean Ave. Thursday night after responding to a two-alarm blaze and discovered electronics and wallets were missing, according to ABC New York.
The Jersey City Fire Department has a press conference scheduled for 9:30 a.m. at the firehouse where the brazen burglary occurred.
While responding to the fire on Cator Avenue, they rescued a man from the burning home, a source with knowledge of the investigation said.
But when the firefighters returned to the firehouse, they found a broken window and their valuables missing, according to ABC New York. It's unclear how much property was stolen in the burglary.
