A Dallas fire truck was involved in a crash Thursday morning while responding to a call for help, officials say. Dallas Fire-Rescue officials said the fire truck was responding to a call about a structure fire at about 11 a.m. when the driver slowed down due to a red light.
As the fire truck driver began to move through the intersection of Jim Miller Road and R.L. Thornton, the truck was struck by the driver of a Chevrolet pickup truck who, despite having a green light, failed to yield the right of way to the emergency vehicle. The firetruck then collided with a Kia sedan stopped at the red light. The collision pushed the Kia across three lanes of traffic until it came to rest between a telephone pole and the fire truck.
