When Lester Parker’s daughter visited him on Christmas Eve, family pictures decorated his television.
Three days later, his daughter came back to take Parker and his wife to the airport. They were headed to Las Vegas to celebrate their anniversary.
While inside to help load luggage, Parker's daughter noticed the pictures had been taken down and cabinets that were once full were nearly empty.
Other things such as a log cabin, a butler statue and a Harley Davidson wall decoration that were usually displayed had been moved from the house to Parker's garage next door.
After his daughter left the airport, Parker called her and told her if anything happens while they’re gone, the important papers about the house are in the garage.
On Dec. 28, only a few hours after that conversation, Parker’s house caught fire.
