Brockton firefighter and amateur golfer Matt Parziale had a dream come true on Wednesday when he hit the links alongside his inspiration, four-time Masters champion Tiger Woods. Parziale, Woods, and professional golfer Fred Couples set off around noon to share a practice round on Wednesday at Augusta National Golf Club ahead of the first round of the Masters. Parziale previously told reporters that he was inspired to play the sport in his youth because of the performance of Tiger Woods. Parziale also received a letter from Woods, congratulating the Brockton firefighter after he won the U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship in October last year, which qualified him for the Masters. “I played competitive golf because I was able to watch him growing up,” Parziale said earlier this week.
