Detroit police announced an arrest Thursday in the shooting death of Detroit firefighter Jack Wiley Jr. Detroit police said they arrested an 18-year-old man near the Southfield Freeway and Ford Road in Dearborn, said Capt. Michael McGinnis. "What his motives (were) ... I have no idea," said McGinnis. "The arresting crew did great police work in identifying a location for him and were successful in his apprehension." He said he couldn't identify a motive or if the man had a criminal record. He also wouldn't offer details on what led the arresting team to Dearborn. "I'm confident the individual we have in custody is involved and responsible for this heinous crime, and any others that may be involved, we will investigate that and catch up with them." Wiley's sister reportedly found his body at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday inside his home in the 15000 block of Penrod on Detroit's west side. He had been shot.
