A New Mexico firefighter is being hailed a hero for what he did while off duty at a convenience store.
In a moment of terror, he used his body to shield a woman from gunfire.
The video, posted by the Española Police Department, is going viral with more than 16,000 views in just a few days and dozens of comments praising him. But the firefighter says he just did what he's trained to do.
"I didn't have time to react or think about anything else," says Enrico Trujillo.
Back in June, Trujillo says he and a friend were walking out of the Giant gas station.
"I saw two people fighting and by then a crowd started to form outside," Trujillo says.
He says things escalated quickly.
"I saw a kid walking from the back of a vehicle and he loaded a gun," he explained.
He says that's when someone opened fire.
