City Councilman Mark C. Walczyk has proposed halting 2 percent raises to all management until the contract dispute with the firefighters’ union is settled. City Manager Sharon A. Addison asked for support for 2 percent pay raises for all city management positions in the 2018-19 budget while she and council members were discussing budget priorities during a Jan. 8 work session. “I’ll support the pay raises for management staff only after the fire contract is settled,” Councilman Walczyk said Monday in a press release. The city consistently gives management and management confidential employees annual raises consistent with that of union-negotiated raises.
