A young boy was rescued by emergency responders on Monday afternoon after a car submerged into Brush Creek. According to Kansas City police, officers were called to the scene at 4725 Prospect Avenue on an accident. Police say a child inside a running vehicle knocked it into gear, causing the car to roll down the hill and into the creek. Fire crews raced to the scene and rescued the child from the vehicle. The boy suffered just minor injuries. A couple in the area saw the car in water and knew a fire station was just half a mile away, so they rushed there. They did not know how important that decision was until they saw it on the news later in the day. “Brings chills to my body to think about what could have happened," Linda Brown said.
