Vallejo Fire Chief Jack McArthur has been released from his position with the department, City Hall confirmed Monday.
The move comes after City Manager Greg Nyhoff completed an “assessment of the city organization,” said City Hall spokeswoman Joanna Altman in a statement released to the Times-Herald. A reason for McArthur’s release was not provided by the city. Altman said the city doesn’t comment on personnel matters.
McArthur will receive three months severance pay, Altman confirmed. The exact number wasn’t provided by the city on Monday.
McArthur took home about $200,000 in base pay in 2017, according to Transparent California. With benefits included, his pay for last year was about $314,000.
