The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF) is preparing to honor 103 firefighters who have died in the line of duty during the organization's annual ceremony and is providing a wealth of resources to help you be a part of the remembrances. The official ceremony will be held on Sunday, Oct. 7, and pays tribute to the 80 firefighters who died while on duty in 2017 and 23 others who fell in previous years. More than 6,000 people, including members of Congress and the Trump Administration, are expected to attend the event, which can be watched via a live feed by clicking here. Firefighter Honor Guards and Pipe & Drum units from across the country are scheduled to participate. The names of each firefighter will be read aloud and their loved ones will receive an American flag that had been flown above the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial and U.S. Capitol Dome. During the ceremony, a bronze plaque bearing the names of the fallen will be officially added to the memorial.
