A top FDNY official in charge of assessing aspiring firefighters has been hosed out of that role, The Post has learned.
Margaret “Peg” Quinn-Puppa, deputy director of the FDNY’s candidate investigation division, “is assuming other duties in human resources,” said department spokesman Jim Long.
Those duties are “outside” of candidate investigation, Long added without further comment.
Quinn, 60, held a powerful position managing the processing of firefighter, EMS and civilian applications to determine whether candidates qualify physically and mentally for FDNY jobs.
She ran the division at a time when the hiring of firefighters came under heavy scrutiny and pressure by a federal court after the Vulcan Society, a group of black firefighters, settled a $100 million lawsuit charging the FDNY with racial bias.
