VIDEO: A special moment of communication between a boy and a Manchester fire lieutenant was caught on camera, and the video has now gone viral.
It was a brief interaction, but Manchester resident Amy McCall said the 39-second encounter will last a lifetime for her son, Tegan.
"He's not going to forget it," she said. "I'm not going to forget it."
Manchester firefighters went to McCall's apartment building Thursday to check on alarms that were going off, and that's when Lt. Mike Rheault saw Tegan in the hallway.
"He kind of looked at me and looked at me like he wanted to say something, but wasn't being verbal," Rheault said.
Tegan has cerebral palsy and cannot speak, so Rheault started communicating with him using American Sign Language.
"I said, 'Hey, how are you?' And he kind of smiled at me," Rheault said. "And I said, 'My name is Mike.'"
