A blaze fueled by propane tanks, ammunition and a 500 gallon oil tank destroyed three structures in the Deshka Landing area on Thursday night. According to Chief Nahlon Green with the Willow Volunteer Fire Department, the fire originated in a work shop before spreading to a log cabin. Heat from the flames caused a nearby shed to catch fire as well. According to Nahlon, propane tanks and ammunition inside the home led to explosions during the fire. The flames also melted through the feed line for a 500 gallon oil tank, which added to the fire. By the time firefighters from the Willow, Houston and West Lakes fire departments reached the blaze, all three structures were fully engulfed in flames, Nahlon said, adding that all three buildings were a total loss. Joe Wright, the president of Deshka Landing, said the fire started in the owner's garage and it moved too fast to save it. "We were able to pull some boats and machines away, but the fire then moved into the house" Wright said.
