A driver was injured after a pickup truck left the roadway and smashed into the front of an Eagle River salon Friday morning.
According to Anchorage Fire Department assistant chief Eric Schuenemann, the male driver suffered non life-threatening injuries in the crash, the cause of which Schuenemann said was under investigation by police Wednesday.
The crash happened just before noon, when employees and customers were in the middle of their appointments at the Mustard Seed Salon on Hanson Drive. The sudden impact knocked bottles to the floor, but nobody inside the shop was injured and the building appeared to be mostly undamaged, according to salon owner Hilary Pullen.
Schuenemann said nine AFD units were initially dispatched to the scene because a building was involved.
