The Anchorage Fire Department says one person is dead in Friday afternoon's trailer fire, near 2221 Muldoon Road. The department is not releasing any information on that person.. According to Jodie Hettrick, deputy chief of operations with AFD, the victim was reportedly trapped within the burning structure. Hettrick said the fire burned in the front room of the building, but she was not sure which room it is. Hettrick reports that a total of 20 apparatus responded to the fire. And AFD is expected to remain in the area for "several hours," as the fire's cause is under investigation. To help determine the official cause, Hettrick says witnesses and family members are now being interviewed.
