Family members say a 5-year-old boy died in a mobile home fire Friday in East Anchorage.
The boy, identified by relatives as William Arnariak, was inside the home when the fire started Friday afternoon. The Anchorage Fire Department does not release victim information.
Three generations lived in the mobile home court off 2221 Muldoon Road, according to a gofundme account set up by William's aunt, Cheryl Arnariak. William was "such a happy cheerful little boy," Arnariak wrote. The family also lost all their possessions in the home.
The family's hometown is Togiak, which is where William's funeral will take place. Togiak is a Bristol Bay community of about 875 people.
Anchorage Fire Department officials are still investigating the blaze, according to deputy chief of operations Jodie Hettrick.
