No one was hurt in a fire that damaged a three-story home on Bridge Access Road on Wednesday afternoon. Kenai Fire Chief Jeff Tucker said the homeowner reported the blaze. “The owner of the house was at home, but he was outside and there were no injuries,” he said. The fire spread quickly through the residence, which was made mostly of wood, but Tucker said firefighters were able to save it. The building is not a total loss but is not habitable, he said. The fire was under control in about 30 minutes, Tucker said. Members of the Kenai Police Department shut down a portion of Bridge Access Road because the water supply was across the road from the home, Tucker said.
