Sentencing in Arson/Assault Case in Fairbanks

The North Pole man accused of trying to burn his wife's house down and hitting a trooper with his car was sentenced to 9 months in prison today (TUE) in Fairbanks Superior Court. 35 year old Ryan Hollenbeck, was originally charged with arson, assault, criminal mischief, failure to stop at the direction of an officer, reckless driving and theft, but struck a deal with the state and pleaded guilty to only assault and failure to stop at the direction of an officer. According to reports, a residence in North Pole was broken into, and a smoldering log was sitting near a cut fuel line. When troopers arrived, the victim said she received a text message from Hollenbeck asking if her home was still there.
