Fort Wainwright's annual anti-terrorism and emergency management exercise called 'ICE FOG' is currently taking place on post. The acronym 'ICE FOG' stands for Installation Capabilities Exercise For Our Garrison.
These exercises will assess Fort Wainwright's ability to implement emergency response plans, policies, and procedures as they pertain to all hazard incidents.
These exercises will also validate Fort Wainwright's ability to implement selected Force Protection Condition Measures.
For many of these simulations, members of the fire station and others are practicing how to identify suspicious items, and then handle these items if they are found to be hazardous or dangerous.
