Capital City Fire/Rescue knocked down a fire Monday night on a Franklin Street block that houses a six-unit apartment complex and several businesses.
CCFR Chief Richard Etheridge said on scene that everyone escaped the building unharmed, and no injuries were reported. Fire marshals were beginning their investigation Monday night into the cause and where the blaze originated. Etheridge said it was unclear where the fire started.
Pictures showed flames on the basement level, which houses Barnaby Brewing, a craft brewery that is just shy of its one-year opening anniversary. Hefty smoke was also found inside the next door Franklin Street Barbers and tattoo parlor, High Tide Tattoo.
Brewery owner Matt Barnaby on scene said he smelled something funny when he left work at 8 p.m.
