Firefighters are investigating an early morning fire in Birmingham. Officials were called to the 700 block of Omega Street around 5:30 a.m. Monday on reports of a car fire. When they arrived, they discovered the fire had spread to a nearby home. Authorities said everyone inside the home managed to escape safely. No injuries have been reported. Investigators are trying to determine how the fire started.
