A 14-month-old girl nearly drowned this morning. She was taken by "Life Flight" to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola. The little girl was found floating in an above ground pool at her grandmother's house. Keeping this child alive took the help of paramedics, firefighters and even the little girl's grandmother played a big part. When officers and paramedics arrived it was a hectic scene. "When I got there the Med Star star employees where on scene they were doing CPR and getting everything ready for the life flight crew," said Michael Shambo a Volunteer Firefighter with the Rosinton Volunteer Department. The 14 month old girl was alive. Paramedics did what they could but we know now that the little girl's grandmother also played a role. " I don't know if she was a nurse or had some medical background but she was able to start CPR and that perhaps might have saved the child," said Capt. Steve Arthur with the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office. Investigators says they believe the toddler wandered into what's described as an above ground pool. The grandmother found the child floating face down.
