Minor's Fire Chief says gunfire into a wooded area following an afternoon memorial may have started a large brush fire on Saturday. Firefighters found shell casings from handguns spread around part of the Carver Memorial Cemetery, and witnesses told firefighters they heard numerous gunshots just after a funeral. Minor's Fire Chief says the flames threatened high voltage lines, and two buildings. The aggravating thing about this is that for multiple weeks, we've been under no burn orders. We've been in stage two drought conditions. Now we're at stage three drought conditions, and this is the third fire in my community in the last four days," says Fire Chief Joe McGough. Chief McGough says there's a bigger problem with people simply ignoring warnings about fire danger during the drought.
