An Austin High School graduate and father of three is one of the five American soldiers who have been missing since Tuesday, after their helicopter went down during a training exercise off the coast of Hawaii.
Brian Woeber, a 1995 Austin graduate, was aboard a U.S. Army helicopter that went down during a nighttime training exercise.
“He was a great guy and friends with everyone,” said Heather Aldridge Smith, a 1993 Austin graduate who was involved with youth programs at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church on Danville Road with Woeber.
