The Prichard Fire Department in Mobile County is investigating the death of a man involved in a house fire late Sunday night. Prichard Fire Spokeswoman Melanie Baldwin reported that firefighters were called to 207 Arthur Avenue around 11:45 p.m. on Sunday for a fully involved house fire. Before firefighters arrived, neighbors attempted to enter the residence, but were unable to rescue the victim, Shonn Whitaker. Prichard firefighters were able to get the fire under control and locate Whitaker's body inside the home sometime before 4:00 a.m. on Monday morning.
