Fire Chief Joe Maxwell said when firefighters and EMTs work wrecks, their connection with patients normally ends at the ambulance, or when the patient arrives at the hospital.
“You often wonder if they make it or not,” said Maxwell, chief of the Underwood-Petersville Volunteer Fire Department.
One of the patients local EMTs wondered about was a young boy injured in a wreck during a rainstorm on Sept. 10, 2016. He was with his mother and sister when their vehicle ran off Rasch Road and flipped several times.
