Birmingham fire officials are investigating an early morning blaze. The fire started around 6:30 Monday morning at a home on 31st Street North. When officials arrived, flames could be seen shooting through the roof. The fire appeared to have started on the second floor of the home. Firefighters were initially told the home was occupied. However, after searching the home, they didn't find anyone inside. No injuries have been reported.
