A juvenile from Mentone went missing Wednesday night and was found by authorities near Valley Head on Thursday.
At approximately 5 p.m. on Dec. 5, Andrew Morgan, 14, of Mentone, left his home on County Road 647 and was reported missing by his family, according to Mentone Police Chief Brad Gregg.
“He had walked off the side of the mountain and walked all night from about 5 p.m. [Wednesday] to 7:30 this morning,” Gregg said. “He went to someone’s house in the valley, north of Valley Head, and they took him in, got him warm and fed him.”
Morgan was taken to Valley Head High School where he was interviewed and the school nurse checked his condition, Gregg said.
Although it is still unclear who found Morgan, Mentone Fire Chief Joseph Lee said the boy is in good condition.
Lee led the unified command of the agencies in their efforts through the night.
