Northport’s local Domino’s Pizza is partnering with Northport Fire Rescue for their fifth-annual smoke detector awareness event. And, having a working smoke detector could mean getting a free pizza. Northport Fire Rescue will deliver Domino’s pizzas this week to help make sure residents are up-to-date on their fire safety knowledge and hardware. Northport residents will be able to get free pizza if they have taken the proper steps to prepare for a fire. Domino’s area supervisor Jay Shurbet gave details on the selection process. “They place an order and they are randomly selected,” Shurbet said. “The fire department delivers out the food to them in the fire truck and we come out and we test their fire alarms to make sure they’re working in their homes to help save lives.”
