Mobile Fire-Rescue firefighters were called out early this morning for an apartment fire. It happened at South Bay Apartments in the 600 block of Washington Avenue around 1:35 a.m. There were heavy flames engulfing a second-floor apartment. Four apartments suffered smoke damage. MFRD reports no one was injured. There's no word on what caused the fire, which remains under investigation.
