One person has died in a house fire in the Sand Rock community this morning The fire reportedly began at around 2:30am and agencies from both Cherokee and DeKalb counties responded to the scene. Cherokee County Coroner Dr. Jeremy Deaton – who is working the case as a joint death investigation with DeKalb County Coroner Bruce Wilson – has confirmed the death to WEIS Radio News. The body will be sent for autopsy. The Sand Rock, Tucker’s Chapel and Dogtown Fire Departments responded to the scene. That blaze is being investigated by the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
