A fire damaged an apartment building in Hoover Sunday evening. City of Hoover spokesperson Melanie Posey says firefighters were called to the 2700 block of River Haven Lane, just before 6:00 p.m. Advertisement Capt. Scott West of the Hoover Fire Department says several apartment units have heavy fire damage, and several other units were damaged by smoke. No one has been hurt. Ms. Posey says the American Red Cross has been contacted and will be on-site to help residents affected by the fire. There's no word at this time about what caused the blaze.
