At approximately 4:18 p.m., Russellville Fire Department units Engine 1, Engine 4, under the command of Battalion Chief Kurt McBryde responded to a vehicle fire at 1940 South Elmira, Village Square Apartments.
Upon arrival, firefighters discovered a Ford Ranger with the engine compartment and cab on fire. During fire operations, firefighters discovered a victim in the truck. The Russellville Police Department Criminal Investigation Division and the Pope County Coroner were called to the scene. Units remain on scene and the investigation was ongoing at press time.
