First responders in Springdale got some special training Thursday that could help save their own lives. During the session, firefighters performed a maneuver called the Columbus Drill. This is when a firefighter falls into the basement of a burning house and other firefighters use a hose to pull the fallen fireman out of the basement. Battalion Chief Blake Holt says this maneuver could help bring the brave first responders home. "When an event occurs, an emergency event. We don't want that to be the first time we've experienced something similar. You need training and or past experience or a combination of those to react and be efficient," Holt said. The training took place at a house donated by Springdale Water Utilities.
